AST Graduate Installed as Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada
Halifax, NS - The election and installation of The Most Rev’d Fred Hiltz, Diocesan Bishop of Nova Scotia and PEI, as the 13th Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada is a historic moment. Not since 1944 (Archbishop George Kingston) has a Primate been elected from Eastern Canada. “This is a moment of pride for all Anglicans in the region and for Atlantic School of Theology (AST) in particular, as we greet the first of our alumni (Master of Divinity 1978) to be elected to this office,” says AST President Eric Beresford. “We know that he will bring enormous gifts to the primacy in challenging times, and we assure him of our love and prayerful support not only as he begins his ministry, but throughout it.”
