Director, United Church Formation Program
Atlantic School of Theology
The Board of Governors of Pine Hill Divinity Hall and the United Church Faculty Group of Atlantic School of Theology invite applications as they seek to appoint a Director of the United Church Student Formation Program, effective 1 July 2008. This half-time (20 hours per week) position will normally be filled by a member of the Order of Ministry (United Church of Canada) in good standing, preferably with five or more years of experience in congregational ministry. The ideal candidate will be committed to a ministry of developing effective leaders for the United Church. This role calls for an experienced adult educator with demonstrated competence in group facilitation, and an effective communicator with good administrative skills. Computer literacy is essential to this role. Familiarity with current issues in theological education, and with the current discernment and candidacy processes for ordered ministry, are considered assets. This position and its work are based on the AST campus in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Before this appointment takes effect, Pine Hill Divinity Hall and the United Church Faculty Group will request and require a letter of good standing from the successful applicant’s congregation (if lay) or Presbytery, District, or Synod (if ordered), as applicable. A current police records check will also be required.
