AST Students, Faculty & Staff
Your AST ID Card
The AST ID card functions as a Novanet Library Card. With this, AST students, faculty, and staff can borrow items from any Novanet Library. This includes most academic libraries in Nova Scotia. Your first card is free. A replacement card costs $15.00. Contact the Circulation Desk for instructions.
ASIN Borrowers Card
|The Atlantic Scholarly Information Network (ASIN) borrower's card allows registered AST students, faculty and staff to borrow items when visiting most Canadian university libraries. This is a free card. AST students, faculty, and staff can get their ASIN card from the AST Library Circulation Desk or (902) 423-7986. If you belong to another university, you must get your ASIN card from your university library.|
Upon Request, all AST alumni can receive a special Alumni Library Card, which grants Novanet borrowing privileges, at no charge. The card must be renewed annually. Please ask the library staff for more information.
For more information contact the Circulation Desk or phone 902-423-7986. Or drop by the Circulation Desk during library opening hours.
Off Campus Borrowers (General Public)
Any member of the community may register for a Novanet Off Camus Borrower Card to access selected library services, such as borrowing books and reference. In addition, this card allows you to borrow from all Novanet Libraries.
Effective September 28, 2009, Nova Scotia residents will be eligible to register for this card at no charge. They may also return books to AST from other Nova Scotia library systems, such as the public library, due to the Borrow Anywhere Return Anywhere (BARA) program.
