This prestigious award recognizes individuals early in their career who have made outstanding and original contributions to the field of linguistics.
From analyzing a Finnish-influenced variety of English spoken in a small community in British Columbia, to researching the range of languages within marginalized and often overlooked communities in the Maritimes, she has worked tirelessly to bring awareness to the studies of linguistics.
We are honoured to have Dr. Brook as an Assistant Professor in Saint Mary's Department of English Language and Literature, and the Program in Linguistics, and can't wait to see what she accomplishes next.
