Care for the Stranger: An Interfaith Symposium
Call for Papers
Symposium Dates: May 10-11, 2017
Location: Atlantic School of Theology
How does your tradition view, define and support the ‘strangers’ in its midst and within the societal context? Members of various religious communities in the Halifax Region are invited to submit proposals for papers or presentations on topics and themes within their own traditions, which illustrate these views and support systems and experiences.
The symposium will discuss this topic under three general topics:
- Pastoral Care
Papers and presentations for discussion are welcomed from clergy, community leaders, and scholars. Reports on community cooperative projects are also welcome.

- The Symposium will begin on Wednesday, May 10 at 9:00 a.m. and conclude on the afternoon of May 11. (A more detailed schedule will follow).
- Lunch will be provided each day.
- The symposium will conclude with a forum discussion on the topic with participants and presenters.
