Atlantic School of Theology Welcomes New Faculty Member
Halifax, NS - The Board of Governors and the President of Atlantic School of Theology are very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. David Deane as Roman Catholic faculty member in Systematic and Historical Theology.
Dr. Deane holds a PhD (2002) from the University of Dublin, Trinity College, an MA (1997) and a BA from the same university. From 2003-2005, Dr. Deane was a Research Fellow, Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences and a lecturer in Theology at the University of Dublin, Trinity College. He is currently Associate Theologian-in-Residence at Colorado State University, USA, where, in 2006, he was short-listed for “Best Teacher Award”, awarded an “Exceptional Teaching Award” by the University Honors Program and short-listed for the “2006 Honors Professor Award”.
In addition to a number of articles in scholarly journals, Dr. Deane’s publications include a book entitled “Nietzsche and Theology: Nietzschean thought in Christological Anthropology” (Aldershot: Ashgate Publishers, November 2006).
Among his awards and grants, Dr. Deane has received a Research Fellowship from the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences and the Elrington Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at Trinity College, Dublin.
