Sally Shaw Returns to Pastoral Ministry

It is with both a sense of loss and a great deal of excitement that we write to let you know that Rev. Dr. Sally Shaw, United Church Formation Director at Atlantic School of Theology, has announced her resignation. Sally will be returning to pastoral ministry after she concludes her work as Formation Director on August 31, 2018.

It would be hard to overstate the impact that Sally has had on countless United Church students and on the whole AST community over the past 10 years. Sally’s leadership has been a model of wisdom, compassion, community-building, and faithfulness. It would be no exaggeration to say that all of us associated with AST have benefited from the many and profound ways in which Sally has blessed this community.

We will miss Sally, and our prayers and best wishes will go with her as she takes up her new post at Waverly Pastoral Charge.

Sally is planning some well-earned vacation and so her last working day as Formation Director will be August 31, 2018. The Board of Directors of Pine Hill Divinity Hall are moving ahead to appoint a Term Appointment United Church Formation Director from August 27th – December 15th. In the meantime, Sally continues to be fully engaged with students currently attending classes in AST’s Summer Term.

Please join with us in extending our thanks and congratulations to Sally Shaw.

Regards,

Neale Bennet, President, Atlantic School of Theology and
Brenda Munro, Executive Director, Pine Hill Divinity Hall
