Atlantic School of Theology is proud to be one of eight institutions of theological education partnering with Vancouver School of Theology (VST) in the “Reimagining Theological Education” project, made possible by a generous grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.

Vancouver School of Theology has received a grant of $9,923,200 USD from Lilly Endowment Inc. to help establish Reimagining Theological Education Across The United Church Of Canada Affiliated Schools: Confronting The Narrative Of Decline.

This project is rooted in the collaboration of the eight institutions of theological education directly affiliated with The United Church of Canada.

“I am excited to be working with partner schools across Canada in this important work of re-imagining theological education,” shared The Rev. Dr. Heather McCance, President of Atlantic School of Theology.

“Atlantic School of Theology will bring our strengths in contextual education, ecumenical formation, and discernment and recruitment to this collaboration, and we’re eager to see how this shared work will strengthen leadership in churches across the country.”

We acknowledge the visionary leadership of VST and the UCC in driving this forward.
