You can support AST’s General Fund, Capital Fund or any other specific fund or designate your gift to a special need that speaks to you. To learn more, please contact AST's Manager of Philanthropy, Jennifer Hartmann, at jennifer.hartmann@astheology.ns.ca

Many employers match charitable donations. Submit a matching gift form to AST to maximize your impact.

Ensure your values endure by including AST in your will or estate plan.

Providing for AST in your will is one of the easiest ways to make a lasting impact on the school’s programs and ministries. You can choose to leave a specific amount or a residual amount (a percentage) of your estate, once loved ones and other interests are taken care of. Making a bequest is also an effective way to reduce estate taxes. A bequest is revocable, so if your circumstances change, you can change your estate plan at any time.

Gift in Your Will

Bequests to AST commonly become part of the school’s endowment, which generates income in perpetuity. You can also direct your bequest to a specific purpose if you so choose. Please connect with AST's Manager of Philanthropy regarding priorities that will have a lasting impact.

If you would like to use this option, the text below is sample wording for a bequest designation.

I devise and bequeath to Atlantic School of Theology  ___% of the residue of my estate [or the sum of $____________.] This gift is to be used for such purposes and designs as deemed appropriate by Atlantic School of Theology Board of Trustees.

Life Insurance

You can make a large impact with relatively small contributions through a gift of life insurance. Donate an existing policy and receive charitable tax receipts for the surrender value and premiums paid thereafter. You can also name AST as the beneficiary of an existing or workplace policy, and your estate will receive a charitable tax receipt. You may also consider creating a new policy and receive charitable tax receipts for premium payments.

Registered Retirement Funds

You can name AST as the beneficiary of funds remaining in your Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs) and Registered Retirement Income Funds (RRIFs). Doing this is simple and there is no immediate cost. With a charitable tax receipt, it is an effective way to minimize final taxation on these assets.

There are many ways to be involved with the life of AST. You can donate your time by mentoring, serving on committees, or partnering on projects. Or perhaps you want to provide tangible items that may be used in the classroom or to decorate our buildings – inside or out!
