Letter from the Dean

A message from AST's Academic Dean

Dear Friends,

I write to you at the start of my first academic year as Dean, and with real gratitude. 

Whether you studied here, prayed for us, or gave so that others could study, you have helped shape what this place is.

The Christian hope rests on the truth that the world can be changed: that people can turn from violence to peace, from greed to compassion, from self-assertion to service. 

This happens when people like you are formed by the Holy Spirit through relationship with Christ. AST exists to form leaders who foster that transformation and, through it, change the world. In a time marked by greed, violence, and dehumanization, such leaders have never been more needed.

This horizon is new. But the ground beneath us has not moved. Our roots in Jesus Christ and our commitment to forming leaders for the Church are unchanged. What is growing is our service: a new Diploma in Pastoral Ministry program for Anglican postulants, the launch of a collaborative Ecumenical Shared Ministries Training Program, and a forthcoming diploma program for Catholic discipleship!

None of this happens without you. Your gift helps students answer God’s call and be formed to change the world. Would you join us again this year?
