The campus is a few minutes’ walk from Saint Mary’s University and Point Pleasant Park, and within easy walking distance of Dalhousie University, downtown Halifax, and major Metro Transit bus routes.
Known for its “small university” feel, the residence provides a quiet, home-like environment with an independent communal kitchen that has fridges and shelf space for non-perishables. AST is home to students from NSCAD, AST, Saint Mary’s, Dalhousie, NSCC, King's, Atlantic Flight Attendant Academy, and more.
Whether you are a student at AST or from another university, you have access to both AST and Saint Mary’s University (SMU) facilities. These include full access to the AST Library, student commuter meal plans courtesy of Saint Mary's University, SMUfit Gym Outside Student Memberships, and Amazon Lockers.

Yes, we do but you have to have an affiliation to AST (AST staff, parent of resident, friend, sibling of resident, cousin, etc.). Please note that your approval is at the discretion of the Residence Manager. Please return the completed short stay application form and payment details to our Residence Manager.
